Auerbach’s plexus; ganglion cell bodies, associated nerve trunks and individual fibres in both smooth muscle layers are clearly demonstrated.

Poor results compared with the surgical kidney specimen ( I had to use 1/100 instead of 1/200 dilution factor). This is because of the delay in fixation that is routine in PM brains. Also, rarely are the brains, upon dissection, dissected into portions that facilitates better fixation. One can easily tell if the brain ( or any other tissue) is sub-optimally fixed by looking for blood vessels. They will appear detached from the neuropil.
