Astrocytes are positive. Note that the capillary in L/S is delineated.There is a punctate “background” positivity…? astrocyte processes?

Upper image shows punctate positivity in C. putamen. Lower image of small intestine shows punctate positivity of nerve fibres within Auerbach’s and Meissner’s plexusues and individual fibres throughout the muscularis and the lamina propria. Additionally, there are occasional cells within the epithelium of the mucosa that are intensely positive ( cytoplasm). These cells appear to have the orientation of neuroendocrine cells.
