MacNeals Tetracrhrome
MacNeals is a wonderful stain for undecalcified bone sections in PMMA,
either microtomed or ground sections.
A word of caution here. Make your own MacNeals staining solution,
commercial brands for undecalcified bone use are absolutely horrible, been
there, tried one, and wasted a lot of money! Don't waste your time with
commercial solution. It is easy to make up.
It is a stable solution, actually sat around lab for a few years and still
worked with great results. Ostoid never looked better!!!
