Here are some comments from our pathologist regarding kappa/lambda and decal:
Decalcification does not affect, in general, immunostaining of most
antibodies. This applies to Kappa and Lambda. The only staining you should
expect with kappa and lambda antibodies is cytoplasmic reactivity in plasma
cells and lymphocytes with some plasma cell features. Membraneous staining
of lymphocytes with these antibodies in formalin-fixed tiisue, with or
without decalcification, is not common and is usually by chance only.
Hope this helps.
