Sandi,
There is a procedure for a Modified Brown and Brenn in the Theory and
Practice of Histotechnology book. Do you have it? The method uses
tartrazine. Works great. If you need it, let me know.

50% solution of xylene and picric acid (Bouins).
I know there is a procedure out there. I just don't remember it.
