We used the SolvCycle system in Cytology for approx. 5 years before we were
unable to get the filters anymore
as the usage was not big enough for the company holding the agency in
Australia.
While we used the system we found it excellent to "clean" the alcohols of
any dye or tissue fragments left after a days staining.
Each filter allowed at least 20 litres of solution (if not too contaminated)
to be filtered. This made it very economical as we effectively saved about
40% on our purchase of alcohols and most of the costs of disposal of
alcohols.
