Xylene should not have paraffin for recycling
We "recycle" our formalin by filtering it, then placing on the processor. When we take it off the processor we neutralize it. Some companies have recyclers for formalin but you would need to add either buffering salts, formalin or both to make it usable again for fixation. There are companies that will sell you a recycling system that is also nothing but a fancy filtration system, we tried that but our Whatman filter paper worked just fine.
