Bret,
It is very difficult to do consistantly good IHC on GMA embedded sections.
This is hard for me to admit to, being a long time advocate of GMA instead
of MMA, but it is true. The GMA plastic cannot be removed, it is water
permeable, but apparently when doing IHC the molecules are so large that
they do not pass easily through the GMA. MMA can be removed and is the
plastic of choice for IHC. Neal Hand has done extensive work with IHC on
MMA.

Subject: plastic-embedded tissues
Hello everyone,
I seem to remember some discussion on plastic-embedded tissues in the
past.
Does anyone have a procedure for IHC on glycol methacrylate-embedded
tissue.
I am wondering what kind of pre-treatment is required or what works
best.
Any tips would be great.
Thanks a bunch,
