Primary Children's Medical Center located in Salt Lake City, Utah is
looking to fill a Histotech position.  We are part of Intermountain
Health Care, the leading provider of health care for all of the
intermountain west including Idaho, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming. We are
looking for a registered tech HT/HTL or someone with 2-3 years of
Histology experience and eligible to take the certification exam. This
person must have experience or be willing to be trained in grossing
tissue and performing autopsies. An overview of the job description
follows: 

The anatomic pathology technician organizes and manages flow of
anatomic pathology specimens through the laboratory, from specimen
receipt through preparation of final diagnostic slides.  Procedures
include, but are not limited to: acting as a technical resource for
physicians and hospital personnel re: specimen submission and special
handling and testing, gross examination of specific types of specimens, 
with pathologist oversight, surgical and autopsy specimen photography,
arranging specimen radiography, obtaining and storing specimens for
special procedures, assisting at autopsy, preparing tissue samples for
diagnosis by pathologist (routine histology, special stains, frozen
sections, touch imprints, bone marrow), preparation and send out of
tissue samples for reference laboratory tests, maintenance of space,
equipment and supplies for autopsy and surgical pathology, maintenance
and troubleshooting of equipment, filing and maintenance of slides,
blocks, and other specimens, on-call coverage of autopsies (weekends,
holidays).
