Not only is General Sickles leg on display ( a bone preparation), but the
offending cannon ball as well. There is a photograph in existance of him
standing in front of the display case ponding on his lost limb. Apparantly he
would pay his leg a visit each year on the anniversary of the battle.
The museum ( I think it is now called the "National Museum of Health and
Science") also has the bullet fragments from President Lincolns assassination
and a collection of electron microscopes. It is worth a visit by any
histotechnologist visiting the area.
