Histonetters,
I have some cryosectioning questions. I have a couple of ancient cryostats, and
am in the market for a new one, ie one with a disposable blade holder, etc. Since
I've had no expereince with disposables, I'm wondering if there are any compelling
reasons to use your C profile blades for cryosectioning if you have disposable
capabilities? Are there some applications where C profiles are still preferable
for cryosectioning, and how do the two blade types compare for cryosectioning?
Also, if money weren't an issue (if we could all be so lucky!), and you could
afford to buy a cryostat with as many compressors required to cut large specimens,
are there any compelling reasons to continue to use a sliding microtome? Does it
have any advantages over cryosectioning in a well equipped cryostat?
You guys are so wonderful! I've learned so much by tuning in to this list serve!
Ever greatful in Oregon,
Karen Larison
