Yes, it is probably ruined. The "wax" cover of M.leprae is much more
delicate than the one in M. tuberculosis and that is why dewaxing
should be done with a mixture of xylene and some oil (I always used
peanut oil, until I changes to mineral oil).
They are probably ruined.
