Questions like yours have been the bread and
margerine of HistoNet (butter is too
expensive) for at least 6 years. There is a
huge body of data in the archive at

Such a bulk of data means that cutting sections
of nails, horns. beaks etc is a difficult job
for everyone, and there isn't an easy answer.
You have to read lots of suggestions (and by
"lots" I mean at least 10 and possibly 100) and
then decide to try out some of the ideas that
might relate to your difficulties. This will
take time.
