improved GI biopsy sections
From: | Barbara.Davies@memhospcs.org |
A special thank you to Bill Barlow, if he is not on the histonet and someone knows him please thank him from my staff for an article he submitted in
the Journal of Histotechnology on 'Techniques for Better Paraffin Sections.' (Vol 16, No 4, Dec 1993) Basically, Bill used a surfactant to soak
paraffin blocks with to improve sections, eliminating microchatter. It has made a significant difference in the quality of routine biopsy
specimens, especially those adenomatous GI polyps, which are so difficult to section without microchatter.
Thanks, Bill from the histotechs and pathologists here at the base of Pike's Peak, CO
