I was told that State Inspectors (California) told one local laboratory that
a Med. Tech. (Clinical Laboratory Scientist) had to supervise the
Immunohistochemistry since it is high complexity testing. They said that it
was to be compliant with the CLIA regulations. The lab is also CAP
inspected. (CAP does the CLIA inspections in California. Supposedly, the
State Inspectors was doing a follow-up inspection of their own.)
Has anyone heard of this happening elsewhere?
