We have been using Omni-Fix (an alcoholic base fixative) to send to outside labs so that they do not have to monitor for formaldehyde. We find it is great for small biopsies but is too slow to fix large specimens. I believe that formaldehyde is still superior to any other fixative out there. But we have found a good substitute for transportation and storage. Also prostate needle biopsies fixed in Omni-Fix come out beautiful for K903 antibody. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
