RE: CAP Question

From:"Drew Sally A."

We use our dated instrument run sheets for that. The run sheets are where we list the cases and slides being run, document any new reagents or comments concerning staining and sign off on when all is OK. All these steps are done prior to the slides being released to the pathologists. We also have the pathologists sign off on IHC QA forms for each case they have ordered immunos on-although that wouldn't reflect daily workload.

Subject: CAP Question

Can someone explain the following CAP question? What should we be doing to comply with this question?

ANP:22850 Are daily records maintained of the quality of immunohistochemical preparations?

NOTE: This refers to the daily output of the laboratory and not necessarily to individual slides.
